Right Denim for Your Body Shape

Have you ever thought of giving yourself a second thought before wearing your regular denims? Probably no, you just have to know what the right style is that flatters your figure. Here’s a look at different denim styles for different body types. Read on to find out which one is your type:

Lean body
Basic fitted and tapered denims with a low waist fits best on a lean body. Anushka Manchanda can show you in a perfect way, I like how she has broken her denim looks with belts and boots, keeping her long torsos in mind.



Curvy hips
For the ‘hippy’ woman, Chitrangada’s almost capri jeans work wonders as they are not the usual heavy-duty denim. The lighter jeans do well in hugging your contours without adding weight to them. The fact that it stops short just above her ankles puts emphasis on her lovely hips and slims down her thighs and calves.


Rounder shape
The flared bottom denims aren’t out of fashion, they look chic in fact specially when paired with a blouse and heels. This one’s for the woman with a well-rounded posterior. They look smart when stilted by a pair of pointy-toed pumps like Kareena’s!


Pear shape
Pear-shaped people usually feel stuck in a rut, but the key for your body-type is to elongate it as much as you can. However, if you have slightly bigger hips make sure the length of your jeans well covers your ankles.

The in-between body type is the luckiest. Not too big and not to skinny either, you can play around with rugged denim styles and even baggy jeans. The distressed denims are a great look for you. Pair them with a tank and biker jacket, not to forget the combat boots!
